Question one- If I was counseling Imus at that time I would have told him that he needs to go on the air an apologize directly to the Rutgurs team. He also should take him self off the air because he had to know that he was going to be taken off. He he did it him self it would have come across that he understood the severity of the situation and that what he did was totally inapproitate.
Question 2- If I was advising his employers I would have told them to take him off the air as soon as you can. Also, have a press release stating that you and your afliates do not have the same views as Imus and no longer support him.
Question 3- I would not of let Imus go on Al Sharpton’s show. I can see why he thought it was a good idea but he had to of known that Sharpton was going to tear him apart and show him no mercy. When someone dislikes you as much as Sharpton did, you do not give the chance to attack you personally.
Question 4- His radio friends had every right not to stick up for him. The whole country hated him. Why would you want to be associatied with him at that time? Also I feel that they did not support his comments and were probably as mad as everyone else.
Question 5- He must tone everything that he does down. He needs to not bring up controveseral topics at all. He can not get him self in any kind of trouble other wise he will never be on the radio again.

Question 2 response- I would not be so hasty to kick one of my biggest shows off the air. The correction could have been made that it was said not as a racist comment, but to mean something else derogatory to the team. I would have found examples from his show that supported him not being a racist. These examples would have led to a softer blow of the impact from his comments, and he might have been able to rephrase what he meant in that statement to make it not racist.
Question 4 response- I don’t think that it was entirely right for Imus’s so called friends to just up and leave him. If they really cared about the situation they could have made it known that they don’t agree with what he at all, but as far as they knew the man was enjoyable and never before came off as a racist.

Some good thoughts here but wow, you need to work on spelling and grammar. Remember that a future employer could read this. I suggest you type it out first in MSWord, then run spellcheck. You can then cut and paste your content in your blog. As far as Andy’s comment about hesitating to take such a big show off the air, are you thinking like a PR person or like a business person? The bottom line isn’t everything!
